The importance of civil cyber security is the focus of the Federal Government’s cyber security strategy. Among other things, interest here is directed at combating cybercrime and protecting the Internet as a critical infrastructure. The importance of combating cybercrime for a resilient society is highlighted in the following article. It is argued that in order to be effective, effective protection measures need a sound data basis. Different levels of society are considered in order to do justice to the complexity of the topic.
