Building on the concept of a “safe space”, this model project developed a dialogue platform at eye level, which was intended to facilitate an emphatic discourse on values. In this environment, intercultural coexistence on various, sometimes sensitive and taboo subjects, intercultural coexistence in the language of origin should be comprehensibly and practically addressed in a comprehensive way. In this way, refugees should be supported in their efforts not simply to subordinate themselves to the liberal democratic values, but to deal with them in greater depth, to look at themselves and their environment in a more practical way, and to make their own decisions and, at best, actively advocate it. This report summarises the motivations and approaches as well as the results of the model project, classifies them in the current prevention landscape and finally offers selective recommendations for action.
