The dynamically evolving Terrorism Finance System

Counter Terrorism Financing has been one of the cornerstones of Counter Terrorism strategy since 9/11. Stricter regulation of the financial system has resulted in a change in the way funds for terrorism are channeled. Cheaper methods of funing terror have also attributed to the cause, and the terrorism financing machinery has evolved. With changes in this financing machinery, On the other hand, over-regulation has burdened financial institutions and has resulted in decreased efficiency. These changes necessitate a shift in regulation policy and also an evolution of the methods adopted to combat the financing of terrorism.
