  • WISIND - The Security Indicator for Germany

As part of the WISIND project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Brandenburg Institute for Society and Security conducted a market structure survey of the security industry in Germany at the end of last year. With the help of an association-wide definition, over 700 security companies were surveyed on various topics and a comprehensive primary data set was generated. In this report on the results of the market study, a first evaluation of the data set was carried out and the product portfolio and customer industries of the security companies were examined in more detail. In addition, the structure of the security industry was analysed in detail on the basis of the number of employees, the distribution of locations and membership of associations. Particular attention was paid to the key figures determined for revenue and revenue distribution, which allow an extrapolation to the entire security industry market in Germany. Finally, the qualitative statements on future trends and challenges were also evaluated and examined in detail.
